What are the first things one should do with a new Mac computer?

  1. Create a non- Admin user for routine computing, and do not use the Admin user except for system maintenance and upgrades

  3. Disable automatic subjection to OpenDirectory servers on the subnet
  4. Enable the root user account so you can su
