Linux SIG

The DFWUUG Linux SIG promotes the use of Linux and Open Source solutions to solve business problems as well as a forum for individuals and companies to discuss relevant topics related to Linux and Open Source.

The meeting format is generally informal and questions are encouraged. Typical attendees are newbies to subject matter experts.

Gary Smith of Motorola has stepped up to the plate and will be leading the Security SIG since the past two leaders have moved out of town. Gary has been a frequent contributor to the group and also writes the Security articles in the Monthly DFWUUG Newsletter. May´s topic was a post-mortem discussion of the featured speaker's talk on Pitbull. In addition, since this was the kick-off meeting, we met to discuss upcoming topics and presentations.  There will be an announcement at the main meeting about the SIG meeting location.
