Gene Saunders -- RIP

Gene Saunders, a well known member of the Unix community here in North Texas and elsewhere, died unexpectedly of natural causes on about September 19, 2008. He was 51 years old. A mailing list, FriendsOfGene@grommit.com, has been setup for those wishing to share stories and receive announcements related to a memorial gathering.

This will be a departure from our normal theme of high tech presentations. I felt like a change of pace would be nice, for once and this presentation will be an historical documentary, if you will, about some of the possibly mob-connected things that were going on, in the Dallas / Fort Worth area during the Great Depression. (Which may be known in the future, if things keep going badly, in this economy, as the first Great Depression. (sigh))

Speaker(s): Jim Gatewood, Author & Historian
